with the Coke SoundZ, an instrument developed to simulate the experience of drinking
Coke. Utilizing both artificial intelligence and neuroscience, it allows users to create their
own melodies.
According to the press release, the sounds of the instrument can trigger satisfying
emotions in our brains. The digital user interface features five toggle buttons that represent
sounds derived from the experience of drinking Coke. Melodies can be generated using
these buttons and the main button labeled "create with AI". The physical instrument, a Coke
bottle-shaped version, has a similar control system.
There are no detailed explanations of how Coca-Cola is using AI technology, but it is said
to be used to "analyze the waveforms" of sounds in the soda drinking experience.
Neuroscience shows that every sound triggers a sense of anticipation that releases
dopamine in our brains. By combining this science with artificial intelligence, they say they
have made the instrument more uplifting and enjoyable.
The Coke SoundZ app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. The physical
